ABOUT
My name is MK Chavez. I am an Afro-Latina coach, author, and educator. I am honored to have worked in social justice and the non-profit world for over thirty years and to be deeply committed to my art practice and the literary community that supports it.
Creating space for transformational change has always been central to my work. I have worked with individuals, organizations, and communities engaged in transformational change. I worked in various roles, including executive director, curator, teacher, trainer and facilitator, program manager, counselor, community organizer. Equity, inclusion, and belonging are core in all of my work.
My coaching practice is visionary, eclectic, and healing centered. At the core of my work is a belief that all of us have what we need for transformational change within us.
I find inspiration and am honored to support individuals during pivotal moments in their lives at the start of new creative projects, project completion, and visioning and planning. I’m also excited to work with teams that are leading organizations through systemic and programmatic change.
I center curiosity and joy in all of my work. My guiding principles include accepting people where they are while also believing in their ability to reach their fullest potential. I believe in coaching in relation to the world we live in, not as if it doesn’t exist.
